Cosmetic Non Surgical Treatment- BOTOX
Botulinum Toxin is a neurotoxin made by the bacteria Clostridium Botulinum, an anaerobic bacteria found in soil.
Botulinum Toxin is purified for clinical use and cosmetic use. In short form we call it BOTOX.
Once injected in the muscle, the mechanism of action of BOTOX® is to cause temporary muscle paralysis through inhibition the release of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine from motor nerve terminals.
The treatment I provide are as follows:
1) FROWN LINES – Most commonly done- Vertical frown lines form in the glabellar area after repeated frowning caused variously by expressions of disapproval, anxiety, and anger.

2) FORHEADLINES-
Together, these muscles work to pull the eyebrows up.

3) CROWSFEET – These curves screw the eye shut and pull down the eyebrow.

ADVANCED BOTOX PROCEDURES:

1) HYPERHIDROSIS (EXCESSIVESWEATING)
Botox is licensed in the UK for treating localised hyperhidrosis of the armpits. Small blocking nerve supply to the apocrine sweat glands and preventing the glands from producing hyperhidrosis but provides temporary relief and needs to be repeated every five to six Although Botox injection is not licensed in the UK for palmar (hands) or plantar (feet) performed. The skin in these areas is sensitive, and the treatment can therefore be painful even when local anaesthetic is applied.
Botox is only effective in treating small areas and is therefore not a viable option for It can take up to a week for the Botox to start working properly so it is important not disappearance right away.

This advanced procedure aims to reduce/soften the wrinkles that develop on the lateral/dorsal aspects of the nose but which may extend out to the lower eyelid. For the smoker’s lines, if the lines persists with botox treatment,then fillers need to be used.

Botox into the DAO muscle can diminish the downward pull on the corners of the mouth and allow the muscles that elevate the corners to take over hence subtly lifting the corners of the mouth.

9) PEBBLE/DIMPLEDCHIN
Dimpling of the skin around the chin area results from repeated contractions of the mentalis (chin muscle).

How Long Will Results Last?

A botox treatment itself is generally quick, usually 20 minutes or less. Your results will usually last about 3 to 6 months. After that time, you can come back for a follow up injection. We do notice that after several treatments, the effect of botox appears to last longer and longer, often times up to several months.

Is There Recovery Time?

No, when you get botox treatments, there is little to no recovery time. Sometimes you may see a little bit of redness or swelling that might occur at the pinpoint sites of the injection, but that generally would only last approximately 30 minutes. You can return immediately to all of your regular activities after leaving the office.

Before starting treatment, tell your doctor if you have any disorders that affect your nerves and muscles, if you are breastfeeding, or if you are planning to become pregnant soon.

Possible side-effects of Botox

– headache – flu-like symptoms
– temporary eyelid droop
– nausea
– squint/double vision
– twitching of the eye
– facial pain
– redness at the injection site
– muscle weakness

Cautions/contra-indications

Do not have botox treatment if you
– have an infection where botox will be injected
– are allergic to any of the ingredients
– are pregnant or think you might be pregnant
– have a neurological disorder (eg. Myasthenia Gravis)

There are also a number of medicines that may interact with botox (eg.quinidine, some antibiotics). It is important to tell your doctor if you are taking any medication.

2) DEEP LINE REJUVINATION- Essentially dermal fillers can be injected anywhere there is a dermal depression/indentation. Often Botox is not enough to correct some deep lines, and so filler is used in addition or instead.
CHEEK AUGMENTATION- Naturally as we get older, the face tends to become more square due to a combination of gravitational descent and upper face/cheek volume loss. Fillers injected here can add volume and return the cheeks to a higher, fuller and more youthful position.
The under-eye hollows, cheeks, nasolabial folds, lips/mouth, chin, and jawline are all improved. Botulinum toxin was also used along the eyes and the eyebrows, giving a marked brow lift.
