Day 01: Reporting at Rumsu Base Camp and Acclimatization
Reach Bhuntar or Kullu town on your own and then proceed towards Rumsu Base Camp, where we will receive you. We will complete the registration and orientation process and then head out for an acclimatization walk to Naggar town, and then trek back to Rumsu Base Camp. The trek route from Naggar to Rumsu resort is very informative, interesting and picturesque. The trek covers many famous places like the Gowrishankar Temple, which is an 11th century Shiva temple, Tripura Sundari Temple, Naggar Castle and Roerich Art Gallery. Naggar’s glory is reflected in many famous temples in the vicinity of the Castle Fort. This old castle is a marvelous medieval building. A further walk leads us to Tripura Sundari temple which is a beautiful example of Pahadi style Temples. Later on one could also see Roerich Art Gallery on the way. Orientation regarding the trek will be given by the chief organizer in the evening. The orientation will cover information like rucksack packing, marching/walking techniques and general awareness about the trek route. Overnight stay at Rumsu.

Day 02: Trek to Chikka
All the participants will leave the base camp by 8 AM with their breakfast and packed lunch to start the trek. We will start with a jeep ride to Hampta dam from Rumsu. While moving towards Hampta Dam we will get to view the exquisitely beautiful Pine forests, rock faces and trees like Maple, Walnut and Oak. We will trek from Hampta dam till Chikka, which is our campsite for the first day. It takes around 2 hours to complete this part of the trek. The trek is easy with very less ascend. There is a small forest patch and then two wooden bridges to get you to the camp site. Chikka camp site is identified by big boulders and a beautiful waterfall.

Day 03: Chikka – Bhalu Ka Gera
Balu Ka Gera is a flat ground amidst the mountains at an elevation of 11,900 ft. Today’s trail will take you through Jwara- a beautiful scenic sheltered valley. After an early breakfast, trek begins from Chikka and walk along the banks of the river to the left. The route will encompass several small waterfalls, lush green meadows and Dhauladhar peaks will be your constant company throughout the hiking hours. We set up our camps and relax for the rest of the day as we slowly reach an altitude of almost 11000 ft.

Day 04: Bhalu Ka Gera – Hampta Pass (12900 Feet) – Bhalu Ka Gera
This is the crowning day of your trip and the most challenging one. The trek is long on this day and should be started at around 7 AM. It would take approximately 4-5 hours to reach the top.
As we start walking towards the mountains from Balu Ka Gera along the river for an hour when the gradient begins, the trail takes you straight towards Hampta Pass. In no time, you will see the first plateau, the magnificent Deo Tibba peak right in front of you. Climb up the ridges as you come closer to Hampta Pass. The climb is vertical and steep which demands concentration and effort, which is all worth at the end. Now at 14,100 ft., you are on top of Hampta Pass with breathtaking views that will leave you in awe. The descent is slightly trickier than the ascent as always. It can vary slightly depending on the snow condition too.

Day 05: Bhalu Ka Gera – Chikka – Jeep Ride to Rumsu Base Camp
On this day we will wake up early and post breakfast start trekking towards Hampta Dam, which is the starting point for the trek. We will take the same route as we did while climbing up. It will take approximately 5- 6 hours to reach Hampta Dam. Once here, we will start our journey back to Rumsu Base Camp via Jeep. We stay overnight at Rumsu Base Camp.
