Harishchandragad is a historic hill fort which is located in MalshejGhat . There are various caves on the top of the fort. The Kedareshwar Cave is one of the must-see structures on top of the hill fort and is a fascinating structure – it is a cave below a hill and only one pillar stands between the roof and base of the cave!
The fort dates back to no less than 6th Century and, many ancient texts and puranas speak of its existence. The relics discovered at the fort, point to the existence of Microlithic man here!
Trekkers can approach the hill from 5 different routes and the caves make very interesting accommodation at night. Besides, there are fresh water streams with continuous water supply.
